When I think of all I want to do in life, sometimes I’m tempted to doubt. I hope
your dreams are things that are beyond what is easily obtained. You know, I have a
saying that says if you’re going to dream, dream big. Sometimes I’m using humor
directing it as someone who, in my estimation, is dreaming too big. They’ll never
realize it. I’m sure that there are those who see my dreams and think the
same thing. They’ll say, "He’ll never make it," but in reality, why should I set
limits on people? Or, why would I let others limit me with their small thinking?

You know, I believe that faith makes a big difference. In fact, we can look at the
Bible and see that faith moves mountains and it rewrites the future of those that
believe. Richard DeVos was a multi-millionaire and was one of the founders of Amway.
He said this, "The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from
life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it’s
possible."

I’m reminded of the story in John chapter 6. It’s a story of how Jesus
fed over 5,000 people. Jesus asked the question, "Where can we buy enough bread to
feed these people?" The answer was as you might expect. They responded with, "Well,
there’s no way. We don’t have enough money. There’s no place to buy it. How could
we feed these people? But clearly Jesus had a plan and it was to teach them about
faith. Many times all he asks us to do is trust and believe. It took faith to
leave that limited thinking of there’s no way, and be willing to take the step of
faith. This great miracle in John chapter 6 isn’t just about Jesus multiplying the
sack lunch of a boy in the crowd. It’s more about the challenge for his disciples
to be willing to step out in their actions, to step out on faith and follow what
Jesus said. They just had to be willing to start, to take that step.

You know, every day we’re given opportunities. There’s a pathway that leads to that opportunity.
On the road to our desired end, there are different paths along the way. The path
of fear, the path of distraction, and the paths of doubt. Those paths will not
lead you to your desired destination. Let faith keep you in the middle of the road
that leads to the desired end.

An anonymous writer wrote, "Doubt sees the obstacle,
faith sees the way. Doubt sees the darkness, but faith sees the day. Doubt dreads
to take a step, but faith soars on high. Doubt questions who believes,
and faith says I."
