Have you ever been tempted to quit? You’ve just had enough. You just want to throw your hands up and throw in the towel. Well, there’s an old country song by Johnny Paycheck. You might have heard it, and it would fit the way you might feel sometimes. It’s titled "Take This Job and Shove It." That might fit how you feel right now. You might like to replace the word "job" with some other word that fits your life. But before you act on those feelings, let me give you some friendly advice. Take a breath, step back, take a bird’s eye view of your situation. Take another look from higher up. Stand in the fight, don’t quit, just be willing to change.
Galatians 6:9 out of the NIV says, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up." Man, that’s a great verse. The Apostle Paul was simply saying, "Keep on, keep on, because there’s a harvest on the way." They’ll be good in the end, especially when we’re working on God’s plan, it’s a good plan.
One thing that’s amazing about God is that His mercy is new every morning, and that His grace is amazing. I know that I need both His amazing grace and His mercy in my life. Listen up, God is your Father, so call home. He’s waiting to hear from you. There’s an amazing character trait about God and it demonstrates how he never quits. In Philippians 1:6 the Apostle Paul again is writing, and he says be confident of this that he who began a good work in you will be faithful to carry it out until completion. He doesn’t quit on his plans, and He hasn’t quit on you, so don’t you quit on you. Ask the Lord to give you the ability to see what needs to change. Ask Him for the wisdom and the courage to change. Let go and let God work to complete His plan for your life. Don’t quit. Just change and see things end well.
